What matters
- Commission is not total cost.
- Instant-buy and order-book execution can use different pricing models.
- Withdrawal and funding costs can matter more than trade commission.
- Compare a realistic end-to-end scenario instead of marketing labels.
A fee label is only useful when the execution path is clear
'Zero fee' can mean no explicit commission on a particular trade flow. It does not automatically mean there is no spread, conversion markup, payment-processing cost or difference between quoted and market price. Without the execution path, the label is incomplete.
For comparison research, the first job is to identify what the advertised fee applies to: advanced order book, recurring purchase, instant buy, card funding, stablecoin conversion or another product.
The cost stack changes by user behavior
A user who buys by bank transfer, trades on an order book and withdraws monthly experiences a different cost stack from someone who uses card purchases and never withdraws. Both can use the same platform and report very different effective costs.
This is why a single 'fees' score can be misleading unless the methodology describes the scenario being scored.
False precision is worse than an empty field
Fee schedules change and can vary by volume tier, market and product. Copying a stale number from another comparison site creates the appearance of completeness while weakening the research.
If a current official schedule cannot be verified, the honest output is 'not verified' or 'see current operator schedule'. The blank is information: it tells the reader where the evidence boundary sits.
A scenario-based comparison is more useful
The most practical method is to compare the same hypothetical path across platforms: funding method, asset, order type, approximate size and withdrawal route. That does not predict the user's exact future cost, but it keeps the comparison like-for-like.
For products with variable funding or network costs, the page should show the mechanism and source rather than freeze a temporary number into evergreen copy.

Official source material used for background and risk framing. Platform-specific claims should be verified against current operator documentation and local rules.
